The Explorer
The Explorer is generally open to all opportunities, and may consider all of them in an effort to find the one solution that is win-win. They set the goals for the teams based on the current needs, or vision. If it appears that they are not on track to meet the desired outcome, they may choose to make a change or pivot to alter the direction of the goal. They may take risks because they feel good about them in that moment, but may pivot later when they find something about the risk they did not foresee. They may lean on their team for brainstorming, but sometimes they get caught in the storm and may find it challenging to anchor into one specific direction.
The Explorer's team may find it challenging to be clear on the direction, and this may cause a lack of trust that it will stay the same. They may even feel like it is not worth investing the time and energy because they have learned to expect changes. This can impact employee morale as well as company progress.
The Explorer's strength is weighing in with the team, but they need to anchor the goal and pivot on strategies. The Explorer has an opportunity to sharpen the communication and breakdown the overall goals. They can follow an easy 5 step process: 1- set the goal, 2-explore the current challenges, 3- build strategies around the challenges, 4- Break down the goals into steps and players roles and 5- Communicate it to the team and keep communication channels open to see if new strategies need to be added to address unforseen challenges. The goal however, should remain the same.
